Daniel McCormack

Principal

Danny is the founder and owner of McCormack Commercial, a real estate company specializing in full-service development, asset management, property management, and brokerage services. The company has a wide-range of projects across the state of Texas, with a primary focus in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin. McCormack Commercial projects range from large-scale commercial warehouses and fulfillment centers to the development of mixed-use retail and residential ventures.

Before founding McCormack Commercial, Danny worked at NewQuest Properties. During his time with NewQuest, Danny obtained invaluable experience working in development, finance, construction, tenant coordination and representation, land acquisition and capital markets.

In 2009, Danny earned his BBA in Real Estate from Texas Tech University. He returned to his Alma Mater in 2011 to earn his MBA with an emphasis in Real Estate. Danny has been a member of NAIOP and ICSC since 2011.

Kellene Appel

VP Asset & Development

Kellene serves as the Vice President of Asset and Development at McCormack Commercial. Her focus is underwriting new development deals and leading the asset management of McCormack Commercial’s real estate holdings.

Prior to joining McCormack Commercial, Kellene gained experience from roles in real estate development and oil and gas operations. She led numerous projects in both industries focusing on finance, accounting, and cost control initiatives. In her last role with a Houston-based developer, she oversaw the closing of more than $400 million in construction, CTL and refinance loans while managing over 5.5 million square feet of industrial and retail assets.

Kellene graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and a minor in Accounting. She serves as a Director for a new Municipal Utility District in Brazoria County and is a member of NAIOP.

Nick Luquet

Development Associate

Nick serves as a Development Associate at McCormack Commercial, focusing primarily on the entitlement process for ongoing projects and conducting site feasibility assessments for prospective deals.

Before joining McCormack Commercial, Nick worked as an engineer and project manager at a Houston-based firm for five years. During this time, Nick managed, designed, and permitted over five million square feet of projects in Texas’ markets spread across industrial, retail, and multi-family products.

Nick attended Louisiana State University where he earned a BS in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer.

John McGinty

Development Associate

John serves as a Development Associate at McCormack Commercial, where he focuses on underwriting, financial modeling, and assisting in the development and acquisition of commercial real estate projects.

Before joining McCormack Commercial, John was a Development Analyst at Trademark Property Company in Fort Worth, where he played a key role in creating complex financial models for various development and redevelopment projects. Additionally, he managed the underwriting and planning for significant acquisitions and developments, working closely with city officials to secure development incentives and approvals.

John earned his BBA in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from Texas Christian University. He also holds a minor in Accounting.

Leslie Hausler

Executive Assistant / Office Manager

Leslie serves as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager at McCormack Commercial.

With over two decades of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the real estate and energy industries. Throughout her career, she has coordinated large corporate office construction projects as well as managed operations departments for power generation and engineering organizations.

Leslie enjoys creating a productive and positive work environment by providing organization and support to the entire team through all aspects of project coordination.
